There were six medical aid posts represented by the industrial plants of the city on the competition that took place in Novomoskovsk Olympic Reserve College.
Alexei Stepanov, the head of Civil defense and emergency situations Department opened the competition and emphasized the importance of permanent standby of medical aid posts.
“According to the current law, medical aid posts must operate not only during military actions, as it was in the past time, but also during response to emergency situations. This means that we estimate qualification level of people who should be ready to rescue victims appeared in the center of chemical, nuclear, bacteriological contagion and bring them to the safe place to render first aid”, said Alexei Stepanov.
In compliance with the rules of the competition, the teams had to prove their complete readiness to emergencies and show their practical skills. In the center of sarin contagion the teams should find three victims, reveal the contamination severity level of the injured, give first aid to them and transfer them to the place of decontamination. Equipped with individual protective gear and being limited in time, the participants put a splint and septic bands on “victims of the catastrophe”. Simultaneously they also had to control radiation background.
According to the majority of the jury, the proficient teams gave the best results where the top spot was taken by LLC Aerosol Novomoskovsk once again, the second – “PromEnergoSbyt”, and the third – “Azot”.
